Company founded by Gerhard Neuberger in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The company has just one employee who manufactures control cabinets and switchboards. Neuberger delivers its first products on the roof rack of a Volkswagen Beetle. The company quickly establishes itself as a dependable supplier of heating, ventilation and control technology.
1978

Neuberger draws on its extensive experience in control cabinet construction to develop and produce its own control modules for local override operation (LO/ID). The N-module system is the first manual control module and fault reporting system in relay technology. It is constructed in a 19-inch format, which means it can be installed as a module in control cabinets.
1981

Neuberger introduces the HS module system as part of the Modulmatic brand. It is the company’s first local override/indication device (LO/ID) system to use transistor technology, featuring integrated circuits to perform logic functions.
1990

Debut of the PMC programmable logic controller, Neuberger’s first completely in-house instrumentation and control system. PMC is a programmable logic controller with an integrated manual control module and clear text operator unit. ProGrafN, the first PC-based building management system, is developed and launched at the same time. The software, which uses MS-DOS, archives process data and stores it to a hard disk.
1992

ProGrafN is developed into ProGrafZ for Windows 3.1. In addition to archiving, the building management system takes on other functions such as plant visualisation, fault reporting and monitoring.
1993

Market launch of the ER1000 room controller. It combines room automation and control in a single unit, is freely programmable, intuitive to operate and communicates via a bus interface. It can be networked with the building management system.
1994

All company divisions are certified in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001 quality assurance system.
1995

Gerhard Neuberger’s succession plan is enacted as the company becomes part of the Weishaupt Group. This move ensures that the company is on the correct course for the future. Siegfried Puhl and Klaus Lenkner are the new managers.
1998

Neuberger introduces the ProGrafNT building management system. This building management software provides independence and conformity for users with its multiple open interfaces that are not tied to a single manufacturer.
2001

The integration of an audit trail, enhanced user administration and data backup strategy ensures that the ProGrafNT building management system software is perfectly suited to applications in the pharmaceutical industry in accordance with Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 11 (21 CFR Part 11). This means that Neuberger satisfies the GMP guidelines of the USA’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
2006

Completion of extensive building and renovation work at the Rothenburg ob der Tauber site. Neuberger has a new production building with state-of-the-art warehouse technology, a modern training center, a fully-equipped research, development and test center, and a remodelled office and administration building.
2007

Introduction of the PMC2 control system, a development of the PMC. The PMC2 can now be expanded to a maximum of 63 I/O modules per programmable logic controller. This brings an expansion of up to 1008 information points per information focus. The new BD4000 operator unit also has a TFT color graphic display for showing trends, archives and message tickers. All modules can be installed separately up to 300 metres away from the programmable logic controller’s central module.
2008

Market launch of clean room terminals for recording and displaying measured values and for airlock control. In a world first, glass terminals are introduced.
2009

The glass ER4000 room controller is launched. The operator unit and control electronics are integrated in a single housing. The interface connects to the building management system, and the design allows for flexibility. Neuberger AG is founded in Geroldswil, Switzerland.
2010

Expansion of the PMC2 programmable logic controller to include modules for installing mounting rails, which can be fitted directly to the control cabinet’s mounting plate. The standalone control system can be used independently or in conjunction with the 19-inch modules.
2011
The ProGrafNT building management system based on the SQL database structure makes its debut. It is an ultra-modern system for all open and standardised communication interfaces.
2012

New DR4000 compact programmable logic controller with web interface. Innovative housing for direct wall mounting or installation in control cabinet cases.
2013

Completion and occupation of the new laboratory and administration building in Rothenburg ob der Tauber The 4,500 m² building is used for programming, development, project planning and training. The modern, uncluttered architecture creates excellent working conditions for employees. Geothermal energy and extremely efficient heat pumps reduce energy consumption to a minimum.
2014

Expansion of the production building in Rothenburg ob der Tauber to set up the company’s own surface-mounted devices (SMD) assembly for Neuberger automation systems. This increases the vertical range of manufacture and flexibility, enhancing the quality of the products.
2015

Expansion of the service portfolio to include temperature mapping, which is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry. Measurements are taken to determine the temperature profile of warehouses and cold-storage rooms.
2016

New clean room terminals with interactive touchscreen display. The panels are used mainly in the pharmaceutical and food industries. They serve as measuring equipment (pressure, temperature, humidity, particles), operating equipment for clean room airlocks and to provide a visual display of operating states. New features include interactive operation on the high-resolution touchscreen display. This allows the operator to input data directly on-site. A fingerprint sensor is used to access and operate the unit.
2017

Neuberger launches Open.Room, its new room automation system. The new 8000 series expands the product range with an automation system for controlling and regulating rooms in offices and administration buildings. Its modular design, open interfaces and flexible, graphic programming satisfy the most stringent requirements of room automation for cost-efficient and top-quality solutions. RoomDesigner in particular allows the user to make simple adjustments at the click of a mouse when changing and/or reassigning office space.
2018

Neuberger celebrates its 50th anniversary. From control cabinet to intelligent building automation – a success story turns 50. In the space of 50 years, the tiny company with 2 employees has grown into an international business with more than 540 staff.
2019

The company’s environmental management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015.
2020

Neuberger launches the RoomDesigner. The new software is used to commission rooms for the Open.Room room automation system and to configure them easily, conveniently and at the click of a mouse.
2022

Groundbreaking ceremony at the site in Rothenburg o.d.T.: A new electronics production and a new logistics area are being built of round about 5.500 m². Parallel to the building project a new parking facility will be built at the Oberen Kaiserweg. With the clean room signal lamps, Neuberger is also presenting another innovation that is used in particular in the pharmaceutical and food industries.
2023

Innovation at its best: at the trade fair ISH 2023 in Frankfurt am Main, Neuberger presented its new and in-house developed room control units RP/RC81000 for the first time. With the alarming and messaging system via messenger, the company also presented a new notification functionality for alarms, fault messages and other messages from the monitoring system ProGrafNT in April. Almost exactly 8 months to the day after the ground-breaking ceremony, the new parking garage opened its barriers and went into operation.
