Career starters – Neuberger welcomes 21 new junior staff as they start their apprenticeships

The Rothenburg-based specialist in building automation, room automation, clean room and process technology welcomed a total of 21 new trainees on 1 August. The young professionals are starting their careers in one of three apprenticeships and a dual study program.

Apprenticeships are a priority at Neuberger. The company has provided regular apprenticeships since 1973, and the first two trainees are still working there today. As the new apprenticeship year gets underway, Neuberger is again offering young people a chance to start their careers in 2019. For example, four industrial clerks started their professional careers in the commercial division on 1 August 2019. In the technical professions, a total of 14 electronics engineers for automation technology and one IT specialist for system integration started their working lives. Two places on the dual study program, which involves a combination of apprenticeship and study with a focus on electronics and computer science, were also filled. One very satisfying aspect of this year’s apprenticeships is that the candidates are from a large catchment area. Alongside a large number of trainees from Rothenburg and the surrounding area, the catchment area extends from Schrozberg in Württemberg and Niederstetten to Uffenheim and Scheinfeld.

“Welcome to Neuberger! I am delighted to welcome you to our headquarters in Rothenburg today, and I wish you a successful start to your professional working lives,” said managing director Klaus Lenkner as he welcomed the new apprentices and students. “We will guide you through this new phase of your life and help to prepare you for employment. Always stay curious and take advantage of the opportunities and possibilities that come your way here, because you will have excellent prospects after your apprenticeship or studies,” Lenkner continued. After a tour of the company, the new trainees and students took care of some administrative formalities before joining their respective departments.

The aspiring technical experts will familiarise themselves with the company, its ethos and products through training sessions, courses and briefings in the early days of their apprenticeship. Some 40 trainers and supervisors in the company are on hand to support and encourage the young people throughout their apprenticeship and study period. They impart sound, practical tips covering a broad range of areas in their respective professional fields. A total of 78 junior staff members are currently on an apprenticeship or dual study programme at Neuberger, which means that almost one sixth of the workforce is an apprentice or student.

As soon as one apprenticeship year has begun, it is already time to start planning the next. The selection process for new applicants is due to begin again in the coming weeks. Neuberger’s website provides information about the company’s apprenticeship, study and career opportunities for prospective school leavers.
