Neuberger’s environmental management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001

Company

The Rothenburg-based specialist in building automation, room automation, clean room and process technology validates its current DIN EN ISO 9001 certification and introduces a certified environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 for the first time.

For 25 years, Neuberger has been certified in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001 quality management standard in all company divisions. Recently, Neuberger has also introduced an environmental management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015.

In contrast to quality management according to ISO 9001, which focuses on product and service quality, environmental management according to ISO 14001 relates to the company and its impact on the environment. The international environmental management standard defines internationally recognised requirements for an environmental management system. Environmental protection is integrated systematically into company management so that environmental matters are taken into account in all daily tasks and policy decisions. The aim of DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 is to continuously improve the company’s environmental performance through the environmental targets set within the company and so to contribute to the responsible use of resources and environmental protection.

Neuberger is now fully compliant with the requirements of the standard, having set up a sustainable environmental management system that is used and accepted by employees. Neuberger’s pharmaceutical clients in particular will appreciate this development, as certified quality and environmental management systems are increasingly required in this sector. Questions about the environment and quality are now standard in supplier self-disclosures and qualifications. “Neuberger’s customers are increasingly concerned with the issues of sustainability, environmental protection and the responsible use of resources, and are increasingly demanding this of us as a supplier,” says Peter Bejcek, Neuberger’s environmental management officer. The final audit report praised the extremely detailed and practical system of key performance indicators and the environmental and energy concept at the headquarters in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Middle Franconia. It also took a positive view of the durable products that Neuberger has designed in-house. Neuberger also achieved re-certification of its quality management system according to ISO 9001 without any issues. The certifications were confirmed by an external institute, SGS-TÜV SAAR, which recently carried out two multi-day audits at the company.

“The two successful audits confirm our efforts to achieve the highest quality standards that take account of sustainable environmental protection and perfectly streamlined corporate processes. We can only achieve this kind of positive result when the company’s employees and departments join forces on the issues of quality and the environment,” says Bejcek in reference to the positive certification audits carried out at company headquarters.

The two successful certifications mean that Neuberger is well positioned to respond to its customers’ requirements and wishes and is a match for its competitors.
